Legacy PHP and Java support: upgrade off end-of-life runtimes without a rewrite
We maintain long-running PHP and Java applications on a monthly retainer, upgrade them off end-of-life runtimes in planned steps, and write down how they work so you are not dependent on one person.
Resolved in 14 minutes. Your team slept through it.
Why it matters now
PHP 7.4 and 8.0 have been out of support for years, PHP 8.1 lost security support at the end of 2025 and PHP 8.2 follows on 31 December 2026. On the Java side, applications pinned to Java 8 or 11, old Spring versions or an ageing Tomcat are common in corporate estates. All of them keep running, but none of them get fixes for new vulnerabilities.
Upgrades are rarely a rewrite. Most of the work is in dependencies, deprecated functions and the absence of tests. We add tests around the riskiest paths, upgrade in steps on staging and release when the numbers match.

It is pinned to Java 8 or an old Spring version
Upgrades have been postponed because nothing is tested

Supported
For Java, the current long-term support releases are Java 21 and Java 25. Support for Java 8 and 11 depends on your JDK vendor and contract; the audit checks yours.
